The (Makers) Market
at The Old American Can Factory | Sundays 11a-5p
The (Makers) Market at The Old American Can Factory is the place to find art and wares designed and crafted by a broad community of locally-based individuals and organizations, including many who are working at The (OA) Can Factory.
The Makers are selected to meet criteria of enduring design, high-quality materials & methods of fabrication and overall social accountability. By investing in an artisanal product acquired directly from the hands of the maker, one is able to learn about the makers unique approach to bringing their artforms to life as well as get to know the maker as 'person'.
The Makers make The Market.
The (OA) Can Factory, an historic industrial complex in Gowanus, is a curated haven to more than 250 artists, artisans, designers, filmmakers, publishers and non-profit organizations. The (Makers) Market joins other cultural venues based there including, Issue Project Room and Rooftop Films.
