MINDS OVER MATTER
AT THE OLD AMERICAN CAN FACTORY

prospective vendors is offered below.

VENDOR SELECTION
The Makers and their wares are selected based on criteria of: enduring design, quality of materials, methods of fabrication, and overall social accountability. Generally, Makers should have designed and made more than 50% of the finished product.
Makers meeting the criteria above are encouraged to apply for that show featuring their material, as well as for multiple dates on the general market side of the venue when other materials are featured.
For example, if a Maker's wares are primarily of fiber, they are invited to apply to the (Fi) Fiber show on Sunday 28 Nov 2010, and also to apply to sell on other Sundays on the General Market side of the venue, though a show of another material will be featured on the other side.

SET UP
The (Makers) Market is a street-level restored garage, 100' long x 50' wide x 15' high, divided in half by structural columns that run the length approximately every 9 feet. These steel columns, set the grid for each vendor's section, which is centered between the columns. Each vending space is approximately 8 ft x 8 ft and Maker's tables should generally be about 6 ft. long. If a table is being provided for a Maker by The (Makers) Market, it will be set in place with a sign in advance at its location ready for use.
The venue opens for Makers 9:30 AM, one & a half hours before it opens to the public, and Makers are expected to arrive timely and be fully set up by 11:00 AM, the scheduled opening time.
A Market Manager is present from set-up to closing at every market to guide Makers in setup and respond to questions or concerns. Additionally, a building superintendant is on site during market days to adjust lighting, if necessary, and for installation assistance and building-related needs that may arise.
